New 7″ from The State Lottery

State Lottery 7" front
We are proud to announce the release of a new two song 7” from The State Lottery. It is a split release with the inimitable Salinas Records, who released the group’s two fantastic LPs. Hailing from both coasts and the Midwestern United States, this geographically sprawled-out band fuse melodic punk and Americana in a way that demonstrates a propensity and mastery of both genres. The State Lottery features current and ex-members of Laura Stevenson and The Cans, Get Bent, and The Gibbons. The 7” is available now via the PayPal link below.

Distros and international buyers should e-mail us at info@answerkeyrecords.com and we’ll get you a price.

Fellow Project “Stable Life” LP available for pre-order

“Stable Life”

On Fellow Project’s new album, Stable Life, Joe Jerkens uses the wisdom gained from a life around the horse racing track as a filter for the experiences of modern life. Stable Life is a ten-song album of pissed off post-hardcore with male/female vocal harmonies. The drums and bass maintain the big sound and groove that resembles the best moments of classic rock while the guitars interplay with one another in a style reminiscent of a screamo breakdown. Featuring ex-members of Bridge and Tunnel and On the Might of Princes.

UPDATE: Pre-order is now closed but the records are in and available for order.

How Do We Jump This High? “Funny/Not Funny” 7″ available for pre-order

“Funny/Not Funny”

Four songs of mid-tempo melodic punk from the two guitar players of Get Bent and the rhythm section of Frame. Three members switch off lead vocal duties throughout the EP. Sobering lyrics, vivid imagery, and noisy guitars sit between hook-filled choruses and verses, letting the focal points from one part to another shift without disrupting the flow of each song.

The 7″ is now available for pre-order via the PayPal link below. Pre-orders will receive a copy of HDWJTH? bassist Mike Borth’s hundred-page short story zine “by the way by the inn”. Pre-order price includes shipping within the U.S. For international orders, please get in touch with us via e-mail at info@answerkeyrecords.com.

UPDATE: Pre-order is now closed but the records are in and available for order.

Answer Key Records

In the winter of 2010, three friends met for a late breakfast at a diner in the Astoria neighborhood of Queens, New York. After much conversation over watered-down coffee, here is Answer Key Records.

Our first release is the four song 7” EP by How Do We Jump This High?, titled “Funny/Not Funny”. As a special thanks to anyone making a pre-order, we are including a copy of “by the way in the inn,” a hundred page short story zine by HDWJTH? bassist and vocalist Mike Borth.

Answer Key’s second release is a new ten-song LP by our friends Fellow Project. The album, titled “The Stable Life”, is awaiting mastering and will be off to press soon.
